Military Veterans Football Club C.I.C
Who we are....
We are Military Veteran Football Club C.I.C. Established in 2022 by David, John and Laura, two veterans and a pad brat!
David served in the Royal Air Force between 1999 and 2008. He had several postings during that time including Lossiemouth and Leeming. Sadly he had to leave in 2008 due to a knee injury but he thoroughly enjoyed his time in the RAF. Football is a huge passion of his, he is a season ticket holder at Sunderland AFC. What he loves most about MVFC is the sense of community and comradery. To him it feels like family coming to the football session.
John served in the Army for 27 and a half years. He had multiple UK and overseas postings in that time including, Aldershot, Cyprus, Newcastle and Canada. He too is an avid Sunderland fan and enjoys fishing and spending time with his family. What he loves most about the MVFC is the atmosphere, the way that all abilities are accepted. How there's a slight competitive edge but its all taken in good heart and how previous ranks, positions and arm of service are irrelevant, everyone is welcome.
Laura is our pad brat, her dad served in the Army for 24+ years and the forces life was all she knew growing up. She travelled everywhere from Cambridge to Germany and describes it as the best time of her life. She has several military links with her Grandfather serving in the Navy, Uncle in the RAF and a Godfather in the Army. She has made it her mission to try and reconnect her father with fellow veterans since he relocated to the area. What she loves most about the MVFC is hearing how much everyone enjoys it and what a difference it makes to their lives.
We are all extremely passionate about helping veterans anyway we can and building a community through football.
